Restrictions due to strike on Adriatic ferries

Since Thursday, 20 June 2025, at 21:00, Greek seafarers of the Panhellenic Union of Deckhands of the Merchant Marine (PENEN) have been on strike. The labor action is significantly affecting ferry traffic between Italy and Greece – particularly connections along the Adriatic route.

Update: Agreement reached in ferry strike - ferry services gradually resume operations

Good news: According to the latest information from Greece, the ferry strike has ended. The parties have reached a negotiated solution and agreed to end the labor dispute.

Ferry services will now gradually resume. In the coming hours and days, however, there may still be isolated delays and after-effects in the timetable until regular operations are fully restored.

We recommend that you check the current status of your connection directly with the shipping company before departure.

Ferry strike extended: restrictions until at least 26.06.2025, 06:00 a.m.

The ongoing ferry strike has been extended until Thursday, 26.06.2025 at 06:00. Cancellations and delays to ferry services are still to be expected.

Which connections are affected?
Due to the strike, there are still cancellations on various ferry routes to and from Greece. Unfortunately, we do not yet have any official information on the duration or further course of the strike.
We have already made several attempts to obtain reliable information from the relevant authorities and ferry companies – so far without success. The situation is dynamic, and we remain in close contact with all relevant partners for the benefit of our customers.

Which routes are currently operating as scheduled?
An important exception:
Departures with Grimaldi Lines from Ancona to Igoumenitsa are currently operating as scheduled.
However, please note that short-term changes are also possible here – we recommend checking the current status regularly before departure.
